Vintage Western Bitless Bridle Tooled Leather Horse Tack Lot Headstall Snaffle
Material: 100% Vegetable Tanned (chrome free) Genuine Leather. Soft Leather for browband and noseband padding.
Workmanship: Sewn on imported machines, finished and polished by hand. Comfortable to the horse, safe, gentle and effective. Please refer to sizing chart before ordering. The bridle needs to be adjusted for the horse at the first application. Provided with 3/4 inch wide full leather reins.
The action of this bridle differs fundamentally from all other bitless bridles (the hackamores, bosals, and sidepulls). By means of a simple but subtle system of two loops, one over the poll and one over the nose, the bridle embraces the whole of the head. It can be thought of as providing the rider with a benevolent headlock on the horse (See illustration).
Unlike the bit method of control, the Bitless Bridle is compatible with the physiological needs of the horse at exercise. First and foremost, it does not injure or frighten the horse, but neither does it interfere, as does the bit, with the horse's ability to breathe and stride freely.This is a bitless bridle so it not harm your horse anymore and also not pinched his face. Leather use in making this bridle is soft, nice and flexible. Padding across nose, chin, brow & poll is comfortable.
The nose band is well padded and is very comfortable for the horse. Adjust the left and the right headstall buckles. Item A as mention in picture.So that the lower edge of the noseband sits approx. 1.5 to 2 inches above the corner of the mouth to secure the headstall onto the mouth piece. Adjust the left and right cross-under strap buckles. Item B as mention in picture.
Such that there are atleast 3 inches of cross-under strap between the ring on the noseband and the attachment ring for the reins. Item C as mention in picture. Item D as mention in picture. Until you can just get one flat finger under the chinstrap. Make sure that you have not trapped either of the cross-under the chinstap. Attach your reins to the O-rings on the end of the cross-under straps. Check that the browband sits comfortably and is not pinching the base of the ears.
