Marked as made by Long in 1917. All original straps and buckles present and supple; no liners; original Russett color.
Small old repair using elk/deer leather on pocket edge and recent repair to yoke. Holed long ago for concho/saddle strings, both sides.Authentic and seasoned been on a horse! Yoke plainly stamped MG 54. This is likely the 54th Machine Gun Company which came from Grantham PA? And joined the 18th Division in France in 1918.
