Vintage 1970 MacPherson Tack LA Sterling Silver Horse Show Trophy Leather Halter. This is a vintage trophy halter from 1970 with Sterling Silver bars (not overlay) that says "BIG OAK 1970" and the horse's name Poco Kya Blue Girls.
The halter was made in Los Angeles, California by MacPherson Tack which is still in business in Burbank, CA. The halter features two stunning engraved Sterling Silver nameplates and the rest of the hardware is solid brass. This is a regular horse sized halter that will fit either a regular to larger sized Quarter or stock breed Horse. This is a really well made halter with triple thickness leather cheeks and jowl, with doubled and stitched top quality leather throughout. They really don't make them like they used to! I can't find any information on the AQHA website regarding the horse's name but I seem to recall there may have been a Big Oak Appaloosa show in Lafayette, CA in the 1970's, and the horse's name is similar to other ApHC bloodlines from the era. I will leave feedback after receiving feedback from buyers as confirmation item has been received.
