This is a vintage military horse riding whip / crop featuring a leather turks head knot top with a silver plaque top and collar. The top is embossed with a military emblem for:'Royal Horse Guards. The Royal Regiment of Horse Guards, also known as the Blues, or abbreviated as RHG, was one of the Cavalry regiments of the British Army, and part of the Household Cavalry. In 1969, it was amalgamated with the 1st The Royal Dragoons to form the Blues and Royals. The silver plaque top also features hallmarks for:'Birmingham 1957. The top is furnished with a later added silver collar hallmarked for:'London 1960' Along with a makers mark for:'Edward Swaine & Adeney Fibreglass. Swaine London, known previously as Swaine. & Brigg is one of the oldest names in high quality canes, whips, umbrellas and military items and has traded in London's St James's for over 270 years. English broen leather shaft with an original leather end. A highly collectable & usable item with a historical patina.
