You are now admiring one of my custom made vintage Monarch jackets. A make jacket that I have made my concentration for reproducing.

As I greatly admire it's style, comfort and look above all other vintage jacket makers. Above all others, this particular jacket is my most favorite model civilian jacket.

Let me tell you all about it! This jacket offered here exactly duplicates Monarch's War era model half belt jackets. Between the cut of the jacket and the side cinch belt gives this jacket a very distinctive look all the while making this jacket an absolute pleasure to wear. This jacket's outer shell is black pigment vegetable tanned horsehide.

My horsehide was acquired from Italy by a minimum order and specially made for my use. This particular hide is the hard finish or non quickly wearing topcoat type hide known in some circles as Vicenza or Victory. The hide is a uniform thickness & a medium weight which will require some break in but only just. All stitched both inside and out using 100% cotton thread. All buttonhole work done with my USA made Reece 101 keyhole machine (same machine as used back in the day) & to perfection. On the inside, it's plaid lining is a semi smooth light to medium weight that is 100% wool and made in the USA by Pendleton. All as seen done on my original same era Monarch half belt model jackets. The hardware used to build this fine jacket is all correct for it's era & is as follows.

The main zipper is an original NOS M-43 brass Talon. For an upgrade I added an unusual original brass & nickel triple marked fan tail slider with rays.

While closure for the cigarette pocket is an original 1940's brass ball & chain Talon. The cuffed sleeve were done using correct era fish eye buttons. To complete I attached a correct nickel Monarch type cinch buckle. All constructed using Monarch's characteristic ultra comfortable inset & rotated sleeve system.

The French seams done where ever reasonably possible. All equating to added construction time while lending much added comfort.

Just another attribute that makes this jacket so great. A few mention able upgraded items found on this jacket include the two inside pockets.

One of which is a welted pocket seen on the jacket's lining adjacent to it's lapel. On the left lapel is a map/pistol pocket with snap that is designed after Monarch's (M-422A, AN-J-3A) jackets & well supported. Dimensions (size 42/44) as follows. Body length (base of collar at the back to hem) 25 1/2.

Front Length (base of collar along the zipper track to hem) 23. This jacket will be very comfortable if matched to someone of a correct build. Built for someone exactly my size. Note, if you like what you see here but this particular jacket is not correctly sized for you or you might prefer a completely different color, hide type or for that matter in a completely different model, then another can be made that might better suit you. Since I made this particular make jacket my concentration, from within my jacket collection I have over 20 original vintage Monarch jackets In both civilian an military models. Not to mention, in every Size 36 through 50 for an excellent reference source. Most all were then painstakingly restored by me.

While apart & prior to restoration I pattern each. As a result I know this particular make jacket both inside and out! As if this one is not your quite your size or hide of preference, another can be easily built to suit. Either in this model or from the many others I have readily available.
