WW1 British Army Officer Cavalry Leather Long Field Boots with original Spurs. A Superb Edwardian pair of Military leather riding boots. Maker - Faulkner and Son.51 & 52 South Moulton Street. Beautiful rich burnished chestnut brown leather, stunning antique naturally aged leather patina, the boots are over 100 years old. Rare to find with original spurs and laces. Condition is very good, I note one very small repair to top edge, not visible on the outside. Hey could of course be worn, please be aware that as they were hand made in the Edwardian era, the boots are small and very narrow. Sole length measured on the outside is 26 cm. Max ball width 8 cm. Stuffed with newspaper dating from 1933. A truly magnificent pair of antique boots, one can assume they are survivors of active service, and as such they become objects which evoke a solemn reverence.
The boots remain strong, certainly made to last, a testament to the skilled craftsmen who made them and the Officer who once wore them.
