Hillyer in the early 1900's, Circa 1908 by The Nettleton Shoe Company Syracuse New York, You can see that Nettleton misspelled the captains last name inside the boot upper as shown and made the corrections to both boots, The wooden forms were made by Peal & Company London specifically for Captain Hillyer's boots and are in mint condition as shown, The boots retain their original soles & heels, The boots overall are in near mint condition and have always been stored with their forms in their original box, The boots were mailed to Captain Hillyer while he was stationed at Pine Camp Military Training Base Great Bend New York, Boots measure approx men's size 10 1/2, These nearly 111 years old boots are a fantastic piece of military history that can easily be worn today, The thick quality leather is barely broken in, They measure approx 19" tall, The exterior measures approx 11 1/2" from the back of the heel to the front of the toe & 4" at the widest point of the sole, The calf circumference measures approx 15 7/8", Fantastic!
